What is Microneedling?
Microneedling, also known as collagen induction therapy, is a minimally invasive skin rejuvenation procedure that uses fine, sterile needles to create controlled micro-injuries in the skin's surface. These micro-channels trigger the body's natural wound healing response, stimulating the production of collagen and elastin, two essential proteins responsible for maintaining skin's firmness, smoothness, and youthful appearance. At MKE Aesthetics & Wellness, our microneedling treatments are performed using advanced SkinPen® technology, the first FDA-cleared microneedling device. This ensures precision, safety, and optimal results for a wide range of skin concerns.
How Does Microneedling Work?
During a microneedling session, a device equipped with fine needles is gently moved across the treatment area, creating thousands of microscopic punctures in the skin. These controlled injuries activate the body's healing cascade: 1. Inflammation Phase: The skin's immune response kicks in, increasing blood flow and triggering growth factors. 2. Proliferation Phase: New collagen and elastin fibers begin forming, along with new blood vessels. 3. Remodeling Phase: Over weeks and months, the new collagen matures and tightens, resulting in smoother, firmer, and more even-toned skin. The treatment typically takes 30–60 minutes depending on the area being treated, and most patients experience minimal downtime.
Benefits
